CONCERT. Members of Spreyton Methodist Church held a concert in the village hall, given by Okehampton Men's Forum.

It was well supported and a lovely evening was had by everyone.

Many memories of the past which featured in the Rev Penberthy playing his accordion, which included tunes and songs by Dame Vera Lynn.

There was also a stall provided by Ruth Beating to raise funds for the ETL Ahadai, which supports poor children in India.

A supper at the end was provided by members of the church. The offerings were for church funds.

Coffee Morning. The annual coffee morning held at the hall was very successful. It raises funds for the senior citizens' Christmas lunch.

It was organised by members of the Village Trust and friends.

A stall was organised by Ron Hayward Smith and manned by Sue and Chris Hendy and included the latest plans and information for anyone buying shares in the project.

A produce stall was organised by Betty Endacott, bric-a-brac by Marion Hooper and Joan Honeychurch. The main raffle was run by Ann Barber, Ethel Daw and Margaret Lethbridge.

Alethea Kennerly provided a Christmas cake for a draw, which was run by Cleave Collins and coffee, mince pies and cream were sold by Eve Collins, Elizabeth Daw and Douglas Endacott.

A Christmas hamper for the main draw was provided by Maddy Knowles.

The amount raised was in the region of £270.

Remembrance Service. The Evensong Remembrance Day service was conducted by Prebendary Anthony Geering, with Shirley Gillard the organist.

Lessons were read by Anna and Charles Rich. He also read the Roll of Honour.

Award. During the service Eve Collins (as a representative of the Deanery Synod) presented a photographic display of the church and brief detail of the events of the parish as all other churches within the Deanery in connection with the Bishop's visitation last June, as a celebration of the occasion.

Clearance. The annual leaf clearance of the churchyard will take place on Saturday, November 21 from 10am onwards. It's an occasion when volunteers also use the time to have a chat, as well as raking up and taking away the fallen leaves.
