A COUPLE who will be celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary on Saturday, September 26, are Eric and Christine Harvey from Spreyton.
Mr and Mrs Harvey were married at Okehampton Registry Office on September 26, 1959.
Eric worked in agriculture for most of his life, until his retirement in 1997.
Christine, nee Alford, and Eric had four sons, three of which live locally and the other in Newcastle.
Eric and Christine have four lovely daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and two step great-grandchildren.
They moved to Spreyton in 1973 and previously lived at Bridestowe.
Eric is an exceptional gardener and very often wins prizes at shows for his vegetables, most recently with his onions at a show in Cornwall.
Christine is a very good artist and most of the family have paintings hanging on their walls she has painted.
A family celebration was held last weekend and further celebrations are planned for the day itself.
