I AM surprised the council are thinking of spending money on an extra footpath at Newcombe's Meadow.

The only people it will really benefit are "doggy" walkers - of which I am one.

Surely any spare money should be spent on our pavements which, in several places in our town, are a menace and easily tripped over.
