AFTER almost 1,000 years of peace, Viking hoards are again amassing their forces for a show of strength in mid Devon when Silverton Luvvies present “Norse by South West, or How Thor Lost his Hammer” next week.

The play, which is presented at Silverton Millennium Hall from Thursday, February 18 to Saturday, February 20, is an original work written by director Portia Smith and cast members and promises plenty of action, laughs and raucous songs.

“Our Norse saga promises to be fast-paced tale of friendlyish Vikings, intrigue, memorable songs and hammers!” said Portia.

“We have worked hard to be as authentic as possible to Viking dress, weapons, mythology and history. This performance is great fun and families will thoroughly enjoy themselves.”

The play is suitable for families, although, with Vikings, you never know what they might get up to!

Tickets are £6 per adult and £2 per child. Curtain-up is at 7.30pm each night with a matinee at 2.30pm on the Saturday.
