DEVON County Council has completed works to clear weeds and silt from Shute Stream in Sandford.

The council used a digger to remove the silt and weeds and this was then removed by lorry.

Sandford Parish Council has been calling for the work to be completed for some months.

It said that it feared flooding could occur locally if the work was not completed.
