ON the evening of Thursday, January 28 40 members and friends of Shobrooke Friendly Club attended the New Hall at Tiverton to see the pantomime, The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe, put on by the Tiverton Signpost Club.

This was the first time in several years that the Club had been to the Tiverton Pantomime and from the reaction of the members of the Friendly Club, it probably won’t be the last.

The production was superb. The costumes were excellent, with hardly the same costume appearing more than once. The wardrobe department must have been nearly overwhelmed with clothes!

The action was very slick, even down to an Elvis Presley look-a-like appearing at the end as the King of the country.

Thanks to Jimmy Powell, of Powells Coaches, Lapford, for providing the transport to and from Tiverton.

The next meeting of the Club is on February 17 and there will be a talk about Age Concern.

A note for your diaries: The Club will run an outing on March 18 to Sidmouth and Otter Nurseries. If anyone is interested in going please contact Mrs Margaret Gale on 01363 773282. The cost has yet to be decided upon.
