A FORMER district and county councillor, Mrs Jean Palk died peacefully on April 21. Her funeral service is to be held at the Exeter and Devon Crematorium on Tuesday. May 5 at 11.30am.
Mrs Palk lived at Newton St Cyres. She was a member of Mid Devon District Council from 1991 to 2003, as an Independent for four years and then as a Liberal Democrat for the following eight years.
She represented Newbrooke and was district council chairman for one year in 1997/98. She was also County Councillor for Crediton Rural, county representative on the Devon Fire Service Committee and a member of the county education committee.
