HAVING a Post Office van visit two or three times a week is "a second chance" for all the villages that lost their Post Office in last year's round of closures, says a Post Office spokesman.
But it would seem that some villages are not taking full advantage of the mobile service. Yeoford is one.
A mobile van calls from Cheriton Bishop Post Office, run by John Deredas and his wife. They took over at Cheriton almost two years ago. This service also calls at Burrington, Bow, Chittlehamholt and Ashreigney.
Unless the people of Yeoford make more use of the service, they could lose it. The van is parked outside Yeoford Village Hall on Monday (9.30-10.30am,) Tuesday (9-10am) and Thursday (2-3pm).
It is at Bow Village Hall car park on Wednesday (12.30-2.30pm) and Friday (9-11am). It calls at Ashreigney on Monday and Thursday, Burrington on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Chittlehamholt on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
