PUPILS and staff at Newton St Cyres Primary School are celebrating the results of their 2015 Standard Assessment Tests (SATS) which saw 100 per cent of pupils gain level 4B or above in reading and maths and level 4 or above in writing.

It was one of only 87 schools in the country to achieve this level of attainment

Headteacher, Glynis Harris said they were delighted at the Key Stage 2 SATS results and to have been recognised as one of the best performing primary schools in Devon.

Their motto is “Together We Succeed”, which is clearly evident with the recent findings and this reflects the hard work of the children and staff, and the close support network they have with the parents and the wider community in the village.

Ms Harris added that with their federation links with Cheriton Fitzpaine and Thorverton meant that they are able to share successes and promote a love of learning across three schools, and that they are very proud that they have been able to achieve this success.
