FOLLOWING the introduction by Paul Brown, Sandy Eakers was inducted into the Rotary Club of Crediton by President Jill Swain after the Objects of Rotary had been read by Peter Bailey.

Born in Devon, Sandy is well-known in Crediton having worked as a Social Care Assistant for 10 years and being the widow of Terry Eakers, who died after suffering from leukaemia some three years ago.

Expressing her reason for joining Rotary she explained her aim was to do something worthwhile and felt that Terry would be proud of her.

With a daughter, son and four grandchildren, Sandy is, in any event, kept fairly active.
