The Sandford batsmen put on a defendable total for their bowlers to bowl at.

The Sandford bowlers did not disappoint and almost all the bowlers, bar one, were amongst the wickets. The pick of the crop were Ben Hancock and Tom Leach.

Sandford 121 for two in 20 overs.

Exeter 103 all out.

Sand ford: Batting: Ben Hancock 40 ret, Gary Abdoll 40 ret; Bowling: Ben Hancock 3.4-0-15-5; Gary Abdoll 4-1-25-2.

Exmouth: Theo Thomson 41 ret.

In a fixture that will have a great impact on the ultimate outcome of the season, Sandford won the toss and decided to bat first. The loss of the early wicket of Josh Misselbrook meant that the rest of the Sandford batsmen had to do well to put on a respectable total against their old foes.

Gary and Ben did not disappoint. With sensible, measured hitting they helped their team to put on a defendable total.

With enough runs on the board the Sandford bowlers had no excuses to do well. The opening bowlers were, however, a little erratic and it was down to Ben Hancock and Gary Abdoll to keep things steady.

After Gary got rid of the danger man, Theo Miller caught at mid-off by Matt Carter, Ben wrapped up the tail with accurate off-spin bowling. Theo Thomson, the unbeaten Exeter batsman, gave some respect to his team's total.

The Sandford team was very good in the field and held on to catches that prove vital in turning the game in their favour.

Yet again the Sandford team displayed great team spirit that has been their strength so far this season.

Exmouth: James Farley 13.

Sandford lost the toss and were asked to field first. The Feniton score flourished in the first three overs against some indifferent bowling by the Sandford bowlers.

The departure of James Farley proved vital and from then Gary and Sam, ably supported by the rest of the team took wickets at regular intervals.

Feniton were all out in 10 overs.

Felix was unfortunate to lose his wicket early on, but Gary and Ben ensured that the Sandford team could have a early return home on a rare, bright, sunny summer's afternoon.

With just one fixture left, the Sandford team dream of silverware this season could just become a reality....

Sandford v Seaton

Sandford lost by 26 runs.

Sandford 91 for eight in 20 overs.

Seaton 117 for six in 20 overs.

Sandford: Batting: Tom Leach 20; Bowling: Tom Leach 4-2-14-2.

Seaton: A Hunt 40 ret: J Rutherford: 4-0-11-4.

Due to school commitments of some of the regular players, Sandford had to field a very inexperienced side. They lost the toss and were asked to field first.

The Sandford opening bowlers managed to bowl tight, initially, which made runs difficult to come by, but when A Hunt came to bat after the loss of the opening batsman, the floodgates opened.

Thanks to the economical bowling of Tom Leach and Ciaran Skinner and a couple of run-outs the Seaton total was kept within reach.

Without any recognised batmen in their side the Sandford team always knew that they would be up against it. The tidy bowling of J Rutherford did not make life any easier for them.

The late flourish of Tom Leach gave the Sandford total some air of respectability.

Congratulations should go to the Seaton team, because they were the best team on the day, but one can only hope that Sandford will not rue the fact that they had to field an inexperienced team. GA
