AFTER a hard fought, competitive and very engrossing season, Sandford Under 14s were declared the East Devon Youth Cricket League (EDYCL) champions.
They played 10 games of which they won nine and lost one. This achievement is testimony to the team spirit that prevailed in the team throughout the season.
The core of team have been together for more than five years and at past attempts they have come very close to getting their hands on the silverware.
This year it seemed that everything fell into place and they held their nerve to win the league.
