MEL Stride MP for Central Devon, on a recent visit to the parish, had an opportunity to view the completed Sandford scrapbook and collage of the Parish Celebrations for the 90th Birthday of HM The Queen.

He declared the scrapbook “splendid” and felt it would be a great addition to the parish records. Anyone who would like to see the scrapbook can contact the parish clerk, Malcolm Vallance.

Both the Sandford Good Companions and Sandford Heritage have already borrowed it to show their members.

Arrangements are also being made for the Lord Lieutenant of Devon to view the Scrapbook and to receive a copy of the celebration collage for hanging in the Lieutenancy Office at County Hall in Exeter.

Sandford’s weekend of events were self-financing leaving a net sum of £71.55. It was agreed to donate this sum towards the £400 that Sandford Congregational Church is raising towards the purchase of a disabled ramp for use at their hall.
