SANDFORD School will celebrate its 200th anniversary with a celebration next month.
Ahead of the event, on Wednesday, June 11, a member of the Helmores estate agency team went to the school with a drone to take some photos ahead of the day.
Hannah Fee, Head of School, was delighted with how the photos came out, and said creating a giant “200” image on the school field was a wonderful experience that the whole school will always remember.
Members of the community are invited to a celebratory tea party in the school grounds from 3.30pm on Wednesday, July 2.
For the celebration, the children have been preparing a special performance of their new school song, kindly written for the school by local musician, Andy Hitchcock.
There will be an opportunity to look at old photos and memories of the school, as well as the children's projects on the history of the school.

The school dates back to 1825 when Sir Humphrey Davie, lord of the manor in the 1820's, wanted to build a “temple of learning” and it certainly is that!
The six Greek columns at the front of the building are thought to be the tallest of their kind in the country, and the entire building is built of traditional Devon cob.
The old school building hasn't changed at all over the years, but the rest of the site has been developed with newer classrooms being built in the later half of the last Century.
There is so much history connected to the school, and staff and pupils can't wait to share it with you.
Sandford School thanks Helmores for taking the wonderful drone images, and to all the people who have already shared their photos and memories.
It is not too late to contribute to the exhibition. Please email the school office at: [email protected] if you have anything you would like to share.
