THE Annual Sandford Parish Meeting (APM) will take place at Sandford Parish Hall on March 23 at the later time of 8pm due to prior use of the hall.

The last APM, due to Covid, was held in 2019.

On the agenda will be the Chairman’s report, the presentation of parish accounts, parish elections, and matters and questions raised by parishioners.

Also, up for discussion will be parish Coronation celebrations.

Already proposed is a Coronation Boundary Walk over two days.

Day 1 (Coronation, Monday, May 8)

Route – Sandford Parish Hall, Pedlarspool, Stonewall Lane and ending at New Buildings.

Day 2 (Later in the Summer)

Route – Parish Hall, Kennerleigh boundary, Swannaton, ending at New Buildings.

Both routes will be timed in advance to enable walkers to join, and leave the walk, along the way.

This will also enable refreshment, and toilet stops, to be included.

Other events understood to be in preparation are a celebration tea at Beacon Church (there is no Beacon this year), and a Street Party suggestion at “Crofts”.

There is an offer for the free use of the Playing Field, and Sports Pavilion for a Coronation Celebration Afternoon, to include tea and sports, along the lines of the 2002 Golden Jubilee Celebration.

This would be dependent on volunteers coming forward.

Representatives of parish organisations and “stake holders” are to be invited to attend the APM to put forward suggestions for Parish Celebrations and, hopefully volunteer to help organise events.
