A SALE of donated bicycles, held in the car park of Tucker’s Country Stores in Crediton, raised £260 for the Devon-based charity Rainbow Living.

Anthony Wright, better known as Curly, repairs the donated bicycles at his home in Morchard Bishop and then sells them at an affordable price to raise funds for the charity.

He took 30 bikes along to the sale at Tuckers including ladies, gents, children’s and racing bikes including a Rock Machine which was the first bike to be sold on the day. A number of bikes were also donated while he was there.

The volunteer-run charity has a strong Christian ethos and supports adults with disabilities, mainly learning disability, by providing accommodation to enable tenants to live with their peers as independently as possible in supported living.

There are three Rainbow Houses in Devon, two in Exeter and one in Torquay.

If anyone has any unwanted bikes they can contact Curly on 07816 342824 or email: [email protected] .
