IT was announced on Thursday, September 10 that former Crediton Rector, the Rev Preb. Nigel Guthrie has been appointed to be a Chaplain to Her Majesty the Queen.

Nigel will continue as vicar of St David’s and St Michael’s in Exeter as he says his duties as Chaplain are light and usually include an annual invitation to preach at the Chapel Royal.

He said he felt very honoured and a little surprised at the appointment.

Messages of congratulation have been extended to Nigel from far and near.
