AS part of Devon Historic Churches Day, St Peter’s Church at Zeal Monachorum is holding a “Ride and Stride” afternoon on Saturday, September 10.
On the day 50 per cent of funds raised is returned immediately to St Peter’s and 50 per cent to funding grants for the maintenance of Devon churches.
In the past St Peter’s has benefited from a DHCT grant towards maintenance of the building and has supported the event for more than 17 years with parishioners raising sponsorship money from cycling or walking to neighbouring churches on the day.
There will also be a hamper raffle at the September 17 market.
Sponsor forms are now available at the church.
As part of Ride and Stride, the Harris family of Nymphayes Farm will be serving afternoon tea between 2.30pm and 6pm at a cost of £5 for adults and £2 for children.
There will be plenty of parking for cars, bicycles and horse boxes for those who may like to “go round the block” to visit nearby churches, before returning for tea.
All are welcome, including dogs who must be kept on a lead as it is a working farm. For catering purposes please telephone Isabel Harris on 01363 82343 or email: [email protected] to reserve a place.
