ONE lucky local resident is ending their weekend on a high after scooping £30,000, thanks to playing the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The West Sandford resident, who has asked to remain anonymous, bagged the windfall after EX17 4PD was announced as a winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on Sunday, February 23.

Offering her congratulations, People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt, said: “Sunday’s are known as the day of rest but hopefully this win has given our lucky player a reason to get up and celebrate!

“It’s always fantastic to hear about our players scooping these cash prizes. And it’s even better knowing that thanks to our players’ support, we are able to continue supporting local charities and causes up and down the UK.”

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise more than £500 million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

Thanks to local players’ support, Action East Devon, a charity that delivers projects to improve mental health and well-being while reducing loneliness and social isolation, recently received £14,225.

The funding enabled the charity to run a Musical Memories project which included the introduction of a Dementia Choir and production of a special app designed to help service users with their memories.

The draw was promoted on behalf of PDSA, the UK’s leading veterinary charity that offers free services to the sick and injured pets of people in need.
