A REPAIR Cafe held at Crediton Methodist Church, on Saturday, March 16 where members of the public took along their broken items for repair was a success.

Ian Barnard co-ordinated the event with Ann Varker from Crediton Methodist Church.

A team of experts were on-hand to give advice and to repair items in order to give them a new lease of life and prevent them from going to landfill.

Volunteers at the Repair Cafe helped with a variety of repairs including sewing, sharpening tools, kitchen appliances and electrical items. PAT testing on electrical items was also available. Donations were gratefully received for any repairs.

Volunteer experts also gave free advice and guidance to people regarding repairs.

The initiative is part of an international movement to provide repair services for household items, which would otherwise be deemed not worth repairing and would be thrown away.

This was the second of six planned events be held in Crediton this year. The next Repair Cafe will be held on Thursday, April 25 at Crediton Station Tea Rooms from 11am to 3pm.
