ANDREW Dean, Chairman of Cheriton Fitzpaine Carnival Committee recently presented Mrs Rene Legge, who has helped with the monthly bingo to raise money for the carnival with a gift to thank her for assisting with the bingo.

Rene is now stepping down from her volunteer role having helped for more than two-and-a-half years.

Rene also gave draw prizes every month and supported the committee.

The committee expressed their sincere thanks for all she has done.

Mr Dean said that in the last four months, close to £800 has been raised which will enable the committee to run the village carnival, which is held every two years.

The bingo is held every first Friday of the month in Cheriton Fitzpaine Parish Hall, eyes down at 7.45pm.

The next carnival for the village will be in July 2018 and the committee is already preparing to put on a great show for the public.
