RESIDENTS in mid Devon are being invited to find out more about their local healthcare services.
GPs from the area will take views from patients at a public event at Exeter's rugby ground on Wednesday, September 2 from 10am to 3pm at Sandy Park Conference Centre. Places must be booked in advance.
The event is open to all patients registered at a mid Devon GP surgery and is free.
Topics covered at the event include how Devon Primary Care Trust's services are used, for example local hospitals and nursing services.
There will also be details of surgery opening times, the results of a patient survey on GP services and when to use emergency and out of hours services.
GPs will also talk about the way hospitals control infections, give advice about winter flu and swine flu, as well as how they decide the right treatment for individual patients.
People are advised to plan their journey by logging into the Traveline website: http://www.traveline.info or">www.traveline.info or by telephoning 0871 200 2233.
Places are limited and are available on a first come first served basis. To book a place, contact Gemma Nield on 01392 267 852 or email [email protected]">[email protected] . All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
