LOCAL residents are reminded that the Punchbowl (Crediton) Household Waste Recycling Centre is currently closed for maintenance works (re-surfacing) until Sunday, March 28 inclusive.

The works began on Wednesday, March 24.

A Devon County Council spokesperson said before the works began: “Due to the nature and scale of the works, and to ensure the work is done safely, the recycling centre will be temporarily closed for that duration.  We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.”

In light of the recent increase in demand across the county, Devon County Council started Summer Opening hours (which usually come into effect from April 1) early at recycling centres across the county.

The new opening hours (excluding the closure period) are now: Monday to Friday: 9am – 5pm and Saturday and Sunday: 10am – 6pm.

The council spokesperson added: “We hope that this will help reduce queue times some residents have been experiencing. Thank you in advance for your patience and as always, please be courteous and follow guidance from site staff to ensure a smooth visit.”
