DESPITE the poor weather, when Pamela Tilney Ellis opened her beautiful but rather secret garden in Sandford many people went along and enjoyed walking the paths, going under the arches and seeing the trees, shrubs, and many daffodils, plus the well-tended vegetable plot and the Pond.
They were also fascinated by her pet bantam, 10 years-old Cheeky, who happily wandered around, both indoors and out, to meet the visitors.
Refreshments were served by the three “M’s”, Marion, Marilyn and Mandy. Pamela said the donations (as there was no charge) amounted to £75, which has been divided between the Oasis Trust which helps children in Uganda, and Sandford Congregational Church.
