A COFFEE Morning, with stalls, held at Newton St Cyres Parish Hall on Saturday, October 5 was most successful and raised just over £300 for Arboretum funds.

Secretary of the Friends of the Arboretum, Roger Wilkins, said that during the morning they were delighted to welcome five new friends.

There was a display of photographs, many taken at the Arboretum, showing the various things that have been done over recent years.

A garden club stall was run by Nicola and Mike Baker, the cake stall was soon sold out, plus the books and bric-a-brac saw a brisk trade.

The raffle which was drawn by Roger Wilkins had many excellent prizes and instead of dashing off home, many stayed for more chat and social time. A great morning.
