A FUNDRAISING banquet, auction and quiz, hosted by the Malt Scoop in Lapford raised a magnificent sum of £2,410 for the Planting Hope Charity, the latest fundraising campaign by Send a Cow.

It is hoped that this total will be doubled by the Government. David Bragg, founder of Send a Cow said that monies raised buys tools and seeds to help poor families become self-sufficient, adding that they are now starting a new programme in Wolyaita, Ethiopia, which will change the lives of another 200,000 poor people for the better.

The auctioneer for the evening was Phillip Burrow and the quiz on Ethiopia was won by Rachel Philips.

Mr Bragg has expressed his thanks to the Malt Scoop for a superb banquet and everyone who supported this worthwhile event.
