CHURCHES Together in Cheriton Fitzpaine was concerned that there would be a sparse audience at a recent Choral Event held in the Parish Hall in aid of Children’s Hospice South West, as a mighty storm was raging outside.

However, there was a respectable and very appreciative audience to hear South Molton Circuit (Methodist Choir) perform a selection of sacred and secular songs, including items from “Les Miserables” and “The Beatles”, with a few spirituals thrown in!

A quartet of brass players also enlivened the evening with conductor, Chris Taylor, and Sue Wallis at the piano.

The Choir has been running for 12 years now, and includes singers of all ages within a 10-mile radius of South Molton.

There were several solos, which were greatly appreciated, and at the end of the evening, choir and audience enjoyed a lavish supper. More than £200 was raised for CHSW.
