MORCHARD Bishop has always been in the forefront of recycling, with any profits made from sales of recycled materials going to worthy causes in the village.

In the last 18 months a total of £1,674 has been raised for Morchard Bishop Churchyard funds by the collection of old newspapers in the skittle alley and the contents of the giant bottle on the bar at the London Inn.

Many thanks are due to Vera and Sarah Gillbard of the London Inn for allowing villagers to leave newspapers in the skittle alley and to Paul Gillbard for processing the newspapers into animal bedding.
