THE winners of a Queen’s Portrait competition held at Sandford Primary School were presented with prizes during an assembly at the school.

Members of Sandford Parish Council, Malcolm Vallance (Parish Clerk), Marian Nosworthy and Shuana Waller presented Ned, the winner of the competition, with some book vouchers and the runners up, Mala, Elana, Nayomi, Tyler, Charlotte and Olivia were presented with some first day cover stamps to commemorate HM the Queen’s 90th Birthday .

Each child was presented with a ruler from the Parish Council as a gift to remember the Queen’s 90th Birthday.

The school wanted to do something special for the Queen’s 90th Birthday and all the children took part in the competition. All the artworks were on display at the school during Sandford’s Street Party.

The card which was signed by all the children was sent to Buckingham Palace and the Queen responded with a letter.
