GERARD Flotats, an exciting and versatile young musician, will come to Crediton to perform at the next Saint Boniface Concert in Crediton Parish Church on Thursday, June 12 (7.30pm).

Gerard will be playing with the accomplished young pianist Julian Chan. They will be presenting a superb programme with works by Beethoven, Chopin, Suk and Poulenc. This Concert is kindly supported by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust.

Gerard Flotats is a versatile young musician who performs a wide spectrum of music from Baroque (on historical instruments) to contemporary compositions with electronics.

His engagements for the season include Manchester Bridgewater Hall, the King’s Place London, and several international music festivals.

Gerard is currently studying for an Artist Diploma with Frans Helmerson, having graduated with honours from the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Hannah Roberts.

Julian Chan is gaining a reputation as one of the most innovative and accomplished pianists of his generation.

He has performed at the Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, St John’s Smith Square, and the Sheldonian Theatre, and has won many First Prizes including the Coulsdon and Purley Festival Prize.

The price is £15 per concert, FREE to full time students under 30. Refreshments will be on offer at the concert.

Crediton Parish Church has parking available, as well as disabled access.

The Saint Boniface Concert Society is a local charity founded in 1981 to bring top-flight professional musicians to perform in Crediton.

Its concerts are kindly supported by “Making Music”, by Crediton Town Council and by several classical music trusts.

The Portrait Players, Baroque Trio, will present a Concert of 17th Century Italian songs from 3pm on Sunday, June 29.
