GETTING supplies of fresh food was a problem for some people recently. Praise for her local growers came from Jenni Pitts who runs Four Seasons on Crediton High Street with her husband, David and son Rob.
Jenni said what while it will take a few weeks for things to settle down and whilst it is unlikely there will be many more locally-grown cauliflowers because of the deep frost, other vegetables are recovering well.
"The cabbage and kale are defrosting beautifully and our local growers have come up trumps in keeping us well supplied.
"We had a lovely selection of fish coming in even last week (January 12) and we sold out of Isles of Scilly daffodils, although we have more coming in regularly," said Jenni.
