FOLLOWING a pleasant lunch prepared by Roy Clayton, members of Cheriton Fitzpaine Welcome Club went into the Methodist Church for a short recital of “Songs from the Shows”.

The singer, a very professional and accomplished soprano, was 12 years-old Polly Crumby from Dunsford.

Polly, who is Roy’s grandaughter attends Torquay Girls’ Grammar School, and is being trained by a professional singer.

She was accompanied by Cheriton’s own, Piers Howell, who is normally to be found at the console of St Matthew’s Church organ.

Chairman, Ann Jackson thanked Piers and Polly on behalf of all the members.
