DEVON and Cornwall Police has issued a warning about thefts from vehicles in Mid and East Devon, following a similar spate just a few weeks ago.

The police explained that vans were being targeted, with power tools being the main items stolen.

The most recent incident took place in Copplestone, at some time between 3.10am and 3.40am this morning, Friday, September 10.

Hitachi and Makita power tools were stolen.

Vehicle owners are advised to review their security and consider removing tools from vehicles if possible. 

Anyone with information, offered any power tools or with CCTV in the area mentioned is asked to telephone 101 or email: [email protected] quoting crime reference CR/078595/21.

The advice is to telephone 999 if you believe a crime is taking place.• There is also a report of a van break-in and tools stolen from Highfield, Lapford overnight.
