IN recent weeks there have been reports of catalytic converters being stolen from vehicles during the day, and at night, across Mid Devon, including the Crediton area.

Devon and Cornwall Police is asking for members of the community to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

The police said that organised criminals can remove catalytic converters from under vehicles in minutes.

The advice is to park your vehicle in as secure a location as possible, parking close to walls or fences but remembering not to block pedestrian access.

Ideally, motorists should park in a well-lit area covered by CCTV.

Police also say motorists should encourage others in their neighbourhood to take these same steps to secure their vehicles.
