SHOBROOKE playground is in need of a facelift and a new group of parents and residents from the village have joined together to try and raise money to refurbish the area.

This is a large parish and the play ground offers the only social activity for children and families to enjoy on a regular basis. Recently volunteer working parties have helped to maintain the play equipment which is nearly all of wooden construction and most nearing the end of its useful life.

The working committee, (Friends of Shobrooke Play Ground) will be consulting widely in the community to see what children, parents and residents would like to see provided.

The play area is also the site used for the village fete and Big Lunch events which will take place on June 4 and 5 this year, so whatever refurbishment happens must allow for full village use.

The Courier will be sent regular updates as all support is warmly welcomed for this enterprise.
