AS a consequence of the print and circulation around Crediton and the surrounding area of the Liberal Democrats' latest issue of Focus, I have no alternative but to write to you in order to provide clarification for your readers and to put the record straight. Crediton and District Access Group for Disabled People is a purely non-political group; a fact well-known to all councillors. As such, members would never allow it to lend its name to, affiliate, or align with, any political party for any reason whatsoever. The object of the group is to promote awareness and improve access to public facilities for all. The group maintains that accessible facilities help the community as a whole, from cradle to grave, not just disabled people. To this end the group consults all community groups, councils and political parties and will continue to do so in the future.
