MID Devon District Council’s parks are currently open and are great outdoor spaces to visit with the family, spend time with friends, walk your dog or exercise.
In the past two years the Council has supported investments of around £175,000 into refurbishing play areas in Mid Devon.
Across the district developments have been made to modernise and make our play areas more accessible.
Glebelands in Cheriton Bishop, and Westexe and Palmerston Park in Tiverton have all seen redevelopments in recent years with the most recent redevelopments being made at Linear Park (Cullompton) and Puddington at the beginning of May.
Linear Park now has an assault course with equipment being doubled and mirrored so that families can enjoy a bit of light-hearted fun racing each other through the course.
New additions include parallel bars, overhead bars, and a three bar balance beam as well as a few more obstacles dotted in-between.
All of Mid Devon’s newly developed play areas include equipment designed to support toddlers to teenagers with improved accessibility to allow for inclusive use where possible.
Quality of life improvements have also been made such as the additions of new bins and benches.
The Council has plans for a series of improvements to be made at many more recreational areas across Mid Devon – with play parks in Crediton, Tiverton, Willand and Wembworthy all currently being looked at for future upgrades.
