THE Rotary Club of Crediton has presented Peter Hamilton with its Citizen of the Year award for 2016.

The club says this is in recognition of Peter’s civic contribution stretching over some 40 years.

Peter has been deeply involved in the life of Crediton, particularly as Director of Crediton Arts Centre, the staging of Community Plays, Shakespeare in the Square and other civic events which Rotary President Paul Evans alluded to when presenting the award.

Rotary Assistant District Governor Anthony Aggett was present.

Besides a shield and certificate, Peter was given a donation for his preferred charity - Crediton Arts Centre.
