THE recipient of the 2018 Citizen of the Year Award from the Rotary Club of Crediton has gone to Peter Brewer.

Since moving to Crediton, some 40 years ago and particularly since his retirement from Devon and Cornwall Police, Peter has immersed himself in the community and has been involved in a large number of charities and charitable causes.

At a luncheon attended by many members of the club and friends, President Mike Beskeen alluded to the many voluntary groups with which Peter had been involved, with the support of his wife, Valerie.

Peter was presented with a perpetual shield, a certificate and £100 for his chosen charity (Crediton and District Playscheme).
