SANDFORD Congregational Church celebrated Pentecost Sunday (June 4) with a lovely service, organised by Marion Nosworthy and Pamela Tilney Ellis, with many of the congregation taking part.

A warm welcome was given by Marion, and the introduction by Pamela. Margaret Phillips and Margaret Tucker read from the Acts of Apostles.

The Link was given by Pamela, verses from the Acts of the Apostles chapter two, were read by Marilyn Winter, Mandy Tothill, Julie Rowe and Marion Nosworthy.

Kathleen Eakers led a prayer which was followed by Nancy Heard who sang a hymn.

Julie Rowe was the organist. Holy Communion was taken, followed by The Lord’s Prayer.

Then, as it was the churches birthday, a beautiful cake made by Marion Nosworthy was cut by Nancy Heard, and afterwards everyone enjoyed a piece with a cup of tea.
