A DAY of outdoor fun is promised at an Open Day (bookings only) being organised by Crediton Community Allotment as part of Naturally Healthy in Devon and Westbank’s Healthy Neighbourhood project on Wednesday, October 21.

All ages are welcome to go along between 10am and 2pm and join members for an activity or to find out what they are doing and how you could volunteer.

Social distancing will be maintained and those attending should abide by current guidelines at all times.

The event will include a Children’s Allotment Trail, Gardening for Health, and mini-talks during the day. Refreshments will be available and some produce will be for sale.

Free activities include: 10.30am - Gardening session for over 50’s; 11am - Children’s Activity: Plant some Cress and 11.30am - Children’s Activity: Make a Bug Hotel.

Paid activity: 12 noon - Plant a Tree for Charity: Those who go along can choose which fruit they would like to plant and dedicate it to someone they care about. A sign will be provided to dedicate it. Cost: £10 per tree (one per person). The money raised is donated to Westbank to maintain its Community allotment; 1.15pm - Mini Talk on taking Cuttings.

It is important to note that there is only capacity for limited numbers to attend.
