A MINIATURE rhino sculpture painted by a local Young Farmers’ Club has been unveiled.

The rhino is a part of the Paignton Zoo Great Big Rhino project, which will see life-size sculptures appearing around Exeter and Torbay.

Newton St Cyres Young Farmers’ Club designed and painted the Rhino to celebrate Devon and the farming community, which has been represented with the Devon flag in a cow print design.

The rhino named Ryan, was decorated by club members Georgina Davie and Victoria Boxall Hunt.

The 42 large rhinos have been sponsored and will appear in parks and public spaces around Exeter and Torbay to create trails for people throughout the summer.

The miniature rhinos which were decorated by local community groups and schools will appear at Babbacombe Model Village.

The aim of the project is to raise awareness and funds to help critically endangered rhinos
