A NEW Year Coffee Morning held at Newton St Cyres Parish Hall raised £233, a good total as numbers were down.

There were lots of prizes in the raffle which was drawn by Tony Hough; John Salter ran a tombola stall and Jan Salter and her friend Gill looked after the cakes and bric-a-brac.

Also present was the Vice Chairman of the Parish Council, Roger Cashmore, who handed out leaflets, communicated with parishioners and answered questions.

He said that the Outreach Post Office is open for two hours every Tuesday from 9am to 11am and Thursdays from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, in the Parish Hall.

The next coffee morning is on Saturday, February 1 from 10.30am to 12 noon and is in aid of the Newton St Cyres Arboretum.
