DEVON Biofuels Ltd, based at Sessland Farm, Spreyton, have just commissioned a new wood pelletizing plant.
This consists of a sawdust drying facility which aims to provide a sustainable quality wood pellet, suitable for wood pellet boilers, animal bedding and cat litter.
Devon Biofuels aim to supply a wood pellet by producing it's own electricity and generating it in a way that will qualify for the new feed in tariff system, Thus reducing production cost and lowering it's carbon footprint.
The project was part funded through a grant awarded by Defra, under the Bio-energy Infra-structure scheme. This sees the first major investment in Devon Biofuels Ltd.
The plant was supplied by Farm Feed Systems Ltd, who are working closely with Devon Biofuels to ensure a quality product. Farm Feed Systems are specialists in supplying wood pellet mills for the small to medium sized production.
