THE June Open Meeting of Crediton U3A group included a very interesting and entertaining talk about Evolution of the Spanish Guitar by Mark Barnwell, an accomplished musician who gives concerts and plays at weddings plus other events.

We were treated to information about 600 years of history and then “taken away” to Spain as Mark demonstrated the various techniques and music from different areas.

It was generally felt that we could have listened to Mark playing for the rest of the morning!

The next Open Meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 18 and includes a talk to be given by Stephen Miller entitled “The NHS Chaos Theory”. The August 15 meeting will include a talk about “The River Exe over time” by Jenny Bennett.

Crediton and District Third Age Group is a not-for-profit organisation for those who are retired or semi-retired. It is run for the group by the group.

Knowledge, skills and experience are shared through many and varied interest groups. We are a thriving local group with more than 250 members currently but would always love to welcome more.
