AFTER reading our MP's column in the Courier on August 16, I wrote to him expressing my concern that Copplestone telephone exchange was not included in the exchanges which are due to be upgraded to carbon fibre broadband.

Mr Stride has responded, as follows: "The Copplestone Exchange is the subject of survey work and we do not yet know the plan for that exchange.

"I would though, with your consent, like to make a representation on your behalf to Connecting Somerset and Devon and wondered if you were happy for me to forward your email to them, asking that they carefully consider your comments?

"Likewise, if you wanted to encourage any other local people to write to me I will be very happy to do the same for them.

"I am fighting very hard for all my constituents on this issue and thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch with me."

I have given my consent and would invite Courier readers to add weight to the argument to upgrade our broadband speeds in our locality. Mel Stride's e-mail address is: [email protected]">[email protected] .
