MID Devon District Council (MDDC) has expanded its commercial recycling service to make it available to more businesses.

The council already offers a general waste service to every business in Mid Devon; now it can offer a recycling service to 85 per cent of potential customers covered by its Trade Waste Service.

It says that using this trade waste mixed recycling collection means there is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to reduce their residual waste and save money on their total waste costs.

MDDC says it is committed to recycling more of the trade and household waste it collects.

It has already improved its household recycling rate up to 53 per cent and reduced the amount of waste it sends to landfill by 20 per cent.

It adds that the new changes will hopefully produce similar results for trade waste customers.

The council currently provides a trade waste service to more than 900 businesses in Devon due to its exceptional service and very competitive rates.
