Mid Devon's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm February 15 to 6am March 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 29 to junction 28 carriageway closed for carriageway reconstruction/renew works. Diversion via B3181.

M5, from 9am July 18 2022 to 11.59pm August 29 2027, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 28 to 29 hard shoulder closure in both directions for parapet works.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A30, from 8pm February 19 to 6am February 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Whiddon Down exit slip road closed for structural inspections. Diversion via A30 to Cheriton Bishop and return to exit.

A30, from 8pm February 19 to 6am February 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Whiddon Down entry slip road closed for structural inspections. Diversion via A30 eastbound to Cheriton Bishop and return to exit.

M5, from 8pm February 21 to 6am February 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 28 to 29, lane closure for drainage works.

M5, from 8pm February 26 to 6am February 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 27 closed for carriageway repairs, diversion via A38 to junction 27.

A30, from 10am to 4pm on February 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Whiddon Down entry slip lane narrowing for electrical repairs.

A30, from 6am to 3pm on March 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Whiddon Down to Woodleigh lane closure for horticultural works.

M5, from 10pm March 4 to 6am March 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 27 closed between exit and entry slip road for electrical works. Diversion via exit and entry slip road.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
