HIS summer, Mid Devon District Council will be introducing some changes to residents kerbside recycling collections.
Residents will be able to put mixed plastics (all kinds of plastic apart from film) in their black box and each household will also be given a new green box for cardboard.
The council will be rolling out the changes in phases across different parts of Mid Devon over a two-month period. Between mid-May and June, residents should keep an eye open for a card the council will be sending in the post outlining the new scheme.
A few weeks after the residents receive their cards, the council will be delivering the new green recycling box for cardboard plus a leaflet explaining the changes in more detail.
The council says there is nothing anyone will need to do differently just yet, they must first wait until they get their new green box and leaflet.
The council says the collection day of the week will not change, and the collection dates of non-recyclable waste (black sacks for landfill) won't change.
From mid-May there will also be plenty of information about the new scheme on Mid Devon District Council's website: http://www.middevon.gov.uk">www.middevon.gov.uk .
In the autumn the council will also be starting a weekly collection of food waste and a chargeable garden waste collection service.
It will be sending more information about these changes nearer the time.
