LAPFORD Pensioners Lunch and Party was a most enjoyable event.
Everyone was greeted with a glass of sherry or fruit juice on arrival.
The delicious turkey lunch, with all the trimmings, was prepared and cooked by John Burrows, and his band of helpers.
It was followed by Christmas pudding or trifle, and coffee.

Local DJ Paul Adams played and sang popular Christmas music and songs.
Bill Graham thanked everyone for attending and specially to John Burrows, who had only a few days before returned from hospital after a heart operation.
Mr Graham said the event was a great community event, all coming together for the festive occasion.
John and his family were presented with a commemorative bench, which will will be placed on the Green behind the Victory Hall, in memory of John’s late wife, Karen.
The party was organised by the hall committee, who are to be congratulated on such a wonderful lunch and afternoon.
